Artist Richard Mark Rawlins has been using his practice as a bridge to his Afro-Caribbean cousins with whom he feels a sense of familiarity and kinship. Via a series of  intimate portraits of people of British Afro-Caribbean heritage, the artist examines the similarities and definitions of what Afro-Caribbean and Britishness mean.
