Venue hire
Hastings Contemporary is an iconic building, nestled between Victorian net huts, funiculars and Europe’s largest beach-launched fishing fleet. We offer a range of unique spaces for private celebrations, corporate events, and workshops.
Designed by HAT Projects and originally created by the Jerwood Foundation, our building has won several architectural awards, including a RIBA National Award, a Civic Trust Award and a Sussex Heritage Trust Award.
As a registered charity, all income generated from venue hire directly supports our education and artistic programmes.

Studio
A perfect place for some blue sky thinking. Let your ideas and imagination be stimulated by surroundings which provoke reaction but allow for personal reflection. This space can accommodate 30 seated and 50 standing and is ideal for workshops, private events, talks and screenings.

- Hot and cold drink facilities, at an additional fee
- Add a workshop or guided tour to your day provided by our in-house team for an additional fee
Cafe
Our cafe has breathtaking south-facing views of the fishing fleet and is a unique location for a special event, birthday or a celebration of life. The space can accommodate 45 seated and 60 standing and includes use of the sun terrace, with ocean views.

Galleries
From our meandering galleries with beautiful views of the Old Town and Stade, to the larger Foreshore Gallery, our flexible exhibition spaces can be used for a variety of different events.
