MARINERS’ TALES

7pm-9pm
£15

Book tickets

Join Hastings Fishermen Bud and Pete White, and musician Bev Lee Harling for an evening of storytelling and song celebrating the Hastings fishing community.

Brothers Bud and Pete were born into a fishing family and spent their working lives on boats launched from the beach.

Bev is a musician and performer who recently discovered her family’s centuries-old connection to fishing in Hastings. In 2024 she created Ploughing The Salt Sea, a solo autobiographical music theatre show drawing on this heritage.

Gain insights into a distinct culture and way of life that is increasingly under threat in this unique event.

Mariners’ Tales will take place in our Foreshore Gallery and will include an optional weather-dependent excursion to the fishing beach.

All sales are final, we are unable to offer refunds.

This event is part of The Sun Feeds the Wind public programme, made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage.
