ARTIST WALK, TALK AND MAKE
Have a voice in designing our new mobile studio
11am-1pm
Free
Join us on a walk, talk and make session exploring the visuals in the local area and finding inspiration for our new mobile studio.
We will meet at on the shingle area outside the gallery before proceeding on a walk around the Old Town.
Along the way, participants will be asked to use their surroundings as a source of inspiration, using view finders, drawing, colour matching and even making simple casts of found surfaces and architecture.
We will then reconvene in the gallery learning studio for tea, coffee, and snacks and a chance to discuss the project with the lead artist.
The session will be led by Kieren Reed, a visual artist and sculptor who grew up in Hastings, for who co-design, communication, and public engagement are crucial elements in his creative process.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our next project, and we would love your ideas. Everyone is welcome, but as this will be an outdoor walk please dress comfortably.
Please email events@hastingscontemporary.org if you would like to come along, or just turn up. We will set off promptly at 11.05am.
