Welcome the new season with a meditation of sound for the Pink Full Moon composed by Maria Christofi, the founder of The Sound Apothecary to lead the body into deep rest with therapeutic sequences of frame drum, singing bowls and monochord.
There will be a particular focus on the release of both creative and emotional resistance, inviting resonance and grounding in a symphony of meditative sound.
What to bring: a yoga mat, cushion and plenty of warm layers/a blanket as the gallery can get cool.
Maria Christofi is the founder of The Sound Apothecary, a space of retreat and deep listening. The name was chosen to represent the medicinal power of sound. A graduate of the British Academy of Sound, the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Central Saint Martins, Maria has a special interest in the cross section of the healing and creative arts, creating ritual with sound and plant medicine, rooted in mythological and Shamanic wisdom. Previous collaborations include Votive art residency, Hastings Museum, The Psychedelic Society, Coastal Currents Arts Festival, Hastings Contemporary, Electric Palace Cinema, Strange Frames Film Club, Hastings Botanical Garden, A Curious Agenda arts festival.
