Pearls of the Sea

Our Future World

An exhibition from the students of nine local primary schools

What do local children imagine our planet will look like in the future? Who will inhabit it, what resources are available, and how will creativity be expressed?

These questions sit at the heart of this exhibition, which will feature interactive caves, a greenhouse of ideas, a cabinet of curiosities, contrasting visions of a Good World/Bad World, junk puppets and more.

The exhibition is the culmination of a year-long collaboration between Hastings Contemporary and nine local primary schools, as part of our Pearls of the Sea programme. Every year, our flagship schools programme gives hundreds of local students the opportunity to visit the gallery, work with local artists in a series of workshops, and then exhibit their artwork in a celebratory show.

To celebrate their achievements, all participating students and their families are invited to visit the gallery free of charge.
