SIGNS OF THE SEA

A creative workshop inspired by British Sign Language

1pm-4pm
Free, but booking required

Join Martin Glover for a hands-on creative workshop in the  studio creating a unique sculpture based on the BSL sign for fish.

This workshop will be delivered in British Sign Language (BSL) but will be accessible to all as Martin will be joined by an interpreter. Everyone is welcome.

Participants will model fish shapes from their own hands using craft wire and other materials to decorate, creating a shoal of ‘hand-fish’ by the end of the session.

Martin Glover, deaf BSL user, is an architect and art facilitator. He delivers tours of contemporary art and architecture and more recently, street art and sculpture. He also manages Digitspace, a project championing better visual arts access nationally. This is the last in a series of events this season led by Martin.

All materials are provided, no experience is necessary.

This event is part of The Sun Feeds the Wind public programme, made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage.
