HERRING
A microscopic adventure (8–12 years)
4pm–5pm
£65 for five weeks
Join our After School Art Club for 8–12 year olds and explore the hidden world beneath our feet through the lens of a microscope.
Over five weeks, led by the team from Soil Craft, children will investigate the landscape where land meets sea, discovering the tiny ecosystems within different coastal soils. They’ll learn how to use a microscope, look closely at soil samples and create artwork inspired by what they find.
Each session will offer a chance to experiment, make and work together, and create artwork using a range different materials.
Soil Craft is a community interest company whose passion is to raise awareness of the importance of soil health and the soil ecosystem. We speak to community groups, run educational workshops for both adults and children, and make award winning bio-alive compost from local cooked food waste. Our backgrounds are in fine art, photography, garden design, microbiology & science education.
