Hastings Litfest is the South Coast’s newest Literary Festival, focusing on writing for writers and exploring the creativity, beauty and power of the written word across a whole host of genres. The festival takes place across the town from 30 August to 1 September, 2019 and Hastings Contemporary are delighted to be hosting two professional creative writing workshops:

Writing Difference: Char March

Want to create believable and authentic diversity in your writing, but not sure how to make it work? A practical, fun and fast-paced workshop for anyone wanting to describe their own experience of ‘being different’ or to create convincing ‘different’ characters in their work.

Preparing your Novel for Submission: Hannah Sheppard

Literary Agent Hannah Sheppard of DHH will tutor participants on how to present completed or nearly-completed manuscripts (any genre) to an agent, exploring the dos and don’ts of submission and how you can make yours stand out from the pile. Click here to find out more.

Self Publishing: Glyn D Harper

Author G D Harper provides an in-depth look at successful self-publishing, from cover design to editing, marketing strategy, and online/media presence. An all-day intensive workshop suitable for those who have a book close to completion, new authors or those who have previously been traditionally or independently published.
