Community Shoutout – 13 May

Welcome to our weekly #CommunityShoutout, our spotlight celebrating our friends, local heroes, and the many great creative organisations and businesses who are responding to the current crisis in innovative ways.

📣 Love Art For Schools specialises in creating learning environments to uplift spaces and inspire children, teachers and staff. They’ve just recently unveiled a large collaborative artwork, a tribute to this year’s cancelled Jack-in-the-Green festival, and made by around 200 local residents in the Hastings area. View it on their website now:

📣 The ever-enterprising Hastings Museum and Art Gallery have been putting out a really diverse and interesting range of digital content, including – get this – The Unbuilt Room, a part-performance, part-game choose-your-own-adventure story presented through live interactive video and shaped by your choices as you work to overcome obstacles and explore the museum. #HastingsDigitalMuseum

📣 Local artist, Luca Damiani has created an illustrated video-audiobook for children and families in lockdown, inspired in part by the tender drawings of Quentin Blake. Sharing a message of hope in humanity and community cohesion, this lovely interactive book is already being used by psychotherapists and some community groups and schools within Hastings and East Sussex. And even better – it is available in 4 different languages. Read (or listen to!) it here:
