Breathe: Mystery Object

The third in our trio of art and mindfulness resources.

You can do this breathing exercise standing up or sitting down or even lying in bed. If you can only move your arms a little, imagine the motion of an elephant’s trunk as you take your breaths. That will help you get a nice rhythm.

One thing that we always say at the gallery when we’re working with a group is “you’re banned from saying ‘I can’t draw’ or ‘this doesn’t look good, can I rub it out?'” We believe that everyone is an artist, so whatever you draw is a piece of art that deserves to be celebrated.

Send us some pictures of the results of these exercises, and we’ll post them so people can see how well you’re doing. Because you’re doing really well.

As usual, please share this widely so that it can reach as many people in need as possible. A moment of mindfulness can make a great difference during a challenging day.

The gallery also needs your support to be able to continue to reach out to people and use art as a tool for comfort and hope. Text ARTONSEA to 70085 to donate £3. Thank you so much.
